When it comes to historic buildings as wedding venues, The Grand in downtown Crown Point, Indiana, is a very elegant option.
Megan and Kegan (and many of their family and friends) traveled from Oklahoma to attend a wedding in the bride’s hometown.
Our day started with bridal prep at the local Merle Norman and Vanis Salon, with the groom getting ready in a room off the marble-floor foyer.

A very special and furry member of the wedding party made an appearance just before ceremony time…

The ceremony was held in the Assessor’s Room on the third floor of the old Crown Point Courthouse. The wedding party consisted of the bride and groom's sisters. They walked down the aisle as the Mother of the groom held onto Marty, the dog, who barked his approval as Megan made her way down the aisle.
The vows were filled with humor, and our bride and groom could barely contain themselves.

After the ceremony, we immediately took family portraits, and then I walked around the building with the bride and groom for their couple’s pictures. We stepped outside for a few images. We had planned on more, but the weather gods were giving us wind gusts of up to 50mph, typical Midwest weather.
The reception took place inside the Maki Ballroom of The Grand with dinner dancing and plenty of wine to go around.
