Carlo and Lina had a “big fat Italian wedding” this summer, which means they did all of the traditions with friends and family, including a church wedding at St. Joseph Church in Dyer, Indiana, as well as a big celebration at Dinolfo’s Banquets in Homer Glen, Illinois.
The wedding reception culminated with La Tarantella, the traditional Italian folk dance. More on that later in this article.
Our day started with bridal prep at the bride’s parent’s home and groom prep at the couple’s home.

Bridal Prep
Lina’s parents have a beautiful home and it was a perfect spot for her daughter to get ready for her big day. Breakfast snacks were plentiful, as was the laughter and camaraderie, all captured in a candid way.
My 2nd photographer Wendy was with Carlo and the guys and they got ready before heading to the church for the Catholic wedding ceremony.
Groom Prep
The ceremony at the St. Joseph Church on Rt. 30 in Dyer, Indiana, saw Lina get walked down the aisle by her Father, a wonderful moment. Friends and family celebrated by showering the newlyweds with bubbles as they exited.
Ceremony
Our next stop was Centennial Park for wedding party photos along with our happy couple. Then it was off to Dinolfo’s Banquets in Homer Glen, Illinois where we utilized the elegant staircases in the lobby.
Portraits
Our videographer for the day was John Zale of Chicago Wedding Films, and the MC extraordinaire was Malcom from 27 Entertainment.
Dinolfo’s Banquets is a very elegant Illinois wedding venue just outside Chicago, and it is the perfect setting for dramatic first dance photos with the couple’s name inscribed on the wall.
Guests held hands and swayed back and forth as they surrounded the couple during the La Tarantella dance.
