Summer Engagement Photos At Whiting Lakefront Park

Katie and Pat spent part of their Saturday strolling around Whiting Lakefront Park and Whihala Beach in Whiting, Indiana taking romantic engagement photos. We had the Northwest Indiana Symphony and a regional football game as our soundtrack. It was a lot of fun!

Katie and Pat live a few blocks from the picturesque park and I envy them as it is a beautiful location to visit. We made sure to start our session during golden hour for some lovely light and we waiting for a sunset over lake Michigan.

Hidden away along one of the walkways in the park is a gorgeous waterfall with beautiful landscaping. Katie and Pat and I spent quite a bit of time in this area capturing them from many different angles.

If you go to the beach, sometimes you have to put on some beach wear. This is exactly what these guys did to showcase some Chicago pride and take some fun photos along the pier. And no, Pat did NOT throw her in the water!!

A wonderful orange and yellow glow took over as the sun began to set over Whihala Beach. Some silhouette pictures were in order as well as sunset portraits. We took many more images for Katie and Pat's summer engagement session at Whiting Lakefront Park with much more to come. Happy summer!!

Summer Wedding Photos At Whiting Lakefront Park

Jessica and Jeremy had a wonderful family filled summer wedding with lots of emotion throughout their big day. We started the day with the bride getting ready at her parent's home. The even helped her beloved father get fancied up in addition to assisting her bridesmaids. There were a lot of laughs and happy tears all around.

The ceremony saw many Mexican traditions and continued with an emphasis on family. The groom was beaming as his bride came down the aisle.

We had wonderfully blue summer skies for our next stop which was Whiting Lakefront Park which is adjacent to Whihala Beach. This area has been totally restored and beautified and is a great location for wedding photos as well as just bringing the family out for a summertime picnic.

Wedding At Annunciata Church In Chicago

Lauren and Brandon had an incredible summer wedding with a Catholic ceremony at Annunciata Church in Chicago and ending at the Halls of St. George reception hall. In between we saw some incredible emotion, a lot of laughs, a traditional Croatian band, a bucket full of happy tears, a laser light show, delicious homemade desserts, some beer and wine, and oh yeah, more emotional moments. The day started off at Lauren's Aunt's home where we photographed the beautiful wedding dress and accessories. Plenty of food was out for the bridesmaids and the many family and guests who came to visit. It was here where we began to see the emotional moments of the day unfold between the bride and her mom, joyous dancing with grandmother as a Croatian band played in the living room and her opening the gift from her goom. My apologies to the flower girl for the corn dog photo. Please don't hate me when you are 23!! :)

Our next step was Annunciata Church in Chicago, IL for the Catholic wedding ceremony. Lauren appeared out of the bright light to walk down the aisle as Brandon and the congregation awaited. Afterward the band was waiting and paid tribute in song to the newly married couple.

After photos inside and outside the church, we were off to Whiting Lakefront Park where clearing skies let us see the Chicago skyline etched in the distance on the other side of Lake Michigan. It looks as though the groom was attacked during pictures, but don't worry he appears to be okay. :)

Our final stop of the day brought us to The Halls of Saint George in Schererville, Indiana. The room was awash in blue and more homemade desserts were on hand in addition to the fantastic meal and wedding cake. Seems as though the flower girls was not going to allow the groom to take off the garter she helped put on!!
