March is always an interesting month when it comes to weather. While it’s technically Spring, Mother Nature of the Midwest will often drop rain and sleet into the mix just to keep us on our toes. She did just that for Elizabeth and Mike’s Spring wedding at County Line Orchard.
The outdoor ceremony was moved inside but that did not dampen spirits.
It was great to see Make Up by Krissy V. when I came into the bridal suite for getting ready photos.
The guys had the middle barn all to themselves in what looked like the poker game of the century. Upstairs, gifts were being exchanged between father and daughter and mom oversaw the getting into the dress.

Elizabeth was very keen on taking portraits inside the grain silo bridal suite like she had seen here on my portfolio and other blog entries. I was happy to oblige while giving her her own unique versions of these images.

We took separate images of the bridesmaids and groomsmen before the ceremony and then the rain started forcing us inside where the couple exchanged vows in the main ballroom.
Indoor ceremonies inside the famous rustic wedding venue in Northwest Indiana are still wonderful. The offer a great view from the balcony above as well as ground level with the wood interior.
Soon after the first kiss the rain ended. I knew it might not last so I urged the couple to flip flop family photos for some outside wedding pictures.
The skies were dramatic as another storm was brewing. The wind started to wind around and we had to act quickly but I love the images we got - puddles and all.

The reception at this barn wedding in Hobart, Indiana was a great family affair. The pinecones and green accents marked the season and of course pie and donuts are always good anytime of year.
The first dance was very romantic and the parent dances joyous. Precision Sound brought the music and the big red barn was rocking all night long.
