I have been capturing weddings at County Line Orchard for many years now and they are usually very large affairs with hay rides, a large guest list and coverage from bridal prep through reception. I absolutely love photographing these big events and County Line orchard is a premiere venue for them.
However, a few years ago, I started offering Micro Weddings, the modern version of elopements. Gabby and Austen were married in Colorado, on a mountaintop with family unable to attend.
This was their opportunity to celebrate with friends and family, and I was thrilled to be their photographer at the big barn.
Let’s look at their summer micro wedding at County Line Orchard.

What are Micro-Weddings?
Micro Weddings have become increasingly popular, offering couples a more intimate and personalized alternative to traditional large-scale weddings. These small gatherings typically involve fewer than 50 guests and allow for a focus on meaningful details that might otherwise be overlooked in a larger event.
Since Micro Wedding packages are shorter in coverage, couples often forego certain parts of traditional wedding photography. Gabby and Austen wanted creative portraits of the two of them and coverage of their reception speeches, first dances since their ceremony had already taken place in Colorado.
Many of my couples who book Micro Wedding Packages choose ceremony coverage and portraits only.
Micro Wedding Reception
After a slideshow played of their wedding images atop a mountain in Colorado (the couple, a photographer, and an officiant climbed to the peak) for all guests to see, heartfelt speeches from family members commenced.
As usual, my radar was ready for the funny and touching moments.
The first dance and parent dances followed dinner.
