Josh and Amanda had quite the crowd at their outdoor wedding ceremony at the Halls of St. George in Schererville, Indiana. As we waited for the bride to make her entrance, the groom exchanged laughter as he recognized friends in the crowd of well wishers in front of the gazebo at the Schererville reception hall.
Both of these families exhibited a lot of laughter as I spent the day with them. As the winds kept blowing out the unity candles inside the gazebo, family members and the wedding party tried to keep them lit and having fun with the moment.
Capturing Josh and Amanda's kiss was no problem as they smooched an extra long time, completed with the groom dipping his bride in front of family and friends.
The day started with hair and make up at The Color Room Salon and Day Spa in Dyer, Indiana. It was there that I found some of the girls under hair dryers, others getting make up done and our bride Amanda texting love messages to her soon to be husband...
Amanda looked stunning even in the salon without her dress. She was going to be a gorgeous bride for sure.
We spent some time at the couple's house where the girls ate Jimmy Johns for lunch and eventually got into their dresses. We took a whole bunch of photos at this time with mom, bridesmaids and the flower girl as well as detail shots of the dress, shoes and more.
We've been having a lot of rain in Northwest Indiana this year and it's dampened a lot of weddings, but it was full on sunshine for Amanda's big day.
After the ceremony we visited the red caboose and railroad cars on display in downtown Griffith, Indiana for some bride and groom shots as well as silly wedding party photographs.
Soon we were back at the Halls of St. George for a delicious dinner and a night of dancing. The groom's godfather gave a speech that was worthy of a skit on Comedy Central. He had the crowd howling in laughter.
