Megan and Andrew's Outdoor Wedding Pt. 2

Yesterday, I posted a video of highlights from Megan and Andrew's outdoor wedding in Crown Point, Indiana on the steps of the old courthouse.  Today we will cover the Getting Ready portion through the ceremony.  These aren't all the images of course, but will give you an idea of how the day went along with some editorial by me.

I got to the Crown Point Square a little early so I could take these shots.  I thought it might be fun to add even more hometown flavor with some greetings around from the town and area business. Okay, so I added this in - it's still fun though, right?

Megan and her bridesmaids decided to get ready at Amore Restaurant which is where the reception would be held later that night.  She wore her favorite "Andy" work shirt and I think this image shows how to take something ordinary (sitting in chair, awaiting make up ) and turn it into an image for the wedding album.  Also below is a close up of the shirt.

When I knew the girls had had enough of the paparazzi for awhile, I drifted upstairs for some detail shots...

Look what I found?  A real, live bridesmaid in dress and all!!  Time for a quick portrait...

I basically spent this entire time going back and forth between the girls, detail shots and images of the courthouse area which was being set up across the street.  My assistant Kristin was there to help with lighting and placement for the detail shots.

Soon I was outside awaiting the ceremony to begin and taking shots of the crowd and the awaiting groom.  Once I saw the wedding party approaching (see above), I knew we were about to begin.

Megan walked out with her two brothers who escorted her up front to the groom Andrew.

The Rev. Doug Klukken of Free Spirit Inner Faith Church was the officiator and he did a great job putting everyone at ease and providing some laughs.

I thought Megan's gloves were a nice, classic touch to her lovely dress...

Pastor must have said something whimsical here...

Some of my favorites from the ceremony include this one of the just married couple walking back down the aisle as man and wife...

Tomorrow we will cover the formals and reception.  Congratulations again to Megan and Andrew!!

Megan & Andrew's Outdoor Wedding Pt.1

The weather was looking grim in the morning during our "getting ready" session and we even had a few drops of rain.  However, by the time the ceremony got under way, the threatening weather disappeared.  Even the officiator commented on this during the ceremony.

Here are a few images and a video montage of the wedding highlights.  Come back tomorrow when I take you from the Getting Ready Portion through the Ceremony with lots of images and comments.

Heather and Gordon: Hobart, Indiana Wedding

- click image to make large -

Gordon and Heather had a June wedding at Grace Lutheran in Hobart, Indiana.  It's the beautiful white church on Route 51 by the hospital.  Click on the image below for a large view.

Hanging out with Heather and Holly and Kavita before the ceremony was a lot of fun.  Getting to know them at this time made us all more comfortable and we were able to get natural looking shots for the rest of the day.

While Heather and the girls were getting ready doing their thing, I'd occasionally get kicked out of the room.  Time to grab some groomsmen for some tough guy shots.

One of my favorites of the guys...

Right before the ceremony began I took my place in the designated areas as requested by Pastor Frederick.  In this case, behind the last pew and in the balcony.  Time to break out the "wildlife lens".

Alright, time to go to the church balcony for some formal shots...

How about some couple's shots around Lake George?!!

Now it's time to party at Assumption Hall in Hobart....

How about some formal dancing...

And now, some NOT SO formal dancing!!

Heather and Gordon chose the add on of Portraits at the Reception which proved to be a big hit with their guests....

Here are the two love birds now.  Thanks for a great day guys!!  Can't wait to get that wedding album in your hands!!!

Take A Tour of Debbie and Dave's Wedding

Let's take a tour of Debbie and Dave's wedding of two weeks ago.....

Debbie wasn't sure if she wanted to do "getting ready" shots as she is camera shy and she thought her girls might be "too much" for me.  lol  No worries, they were very gentle with me.

The image below shows a bride in deep thought.  It was taken at a hotel in Highland, Indiana.  Debbie was surrounded by family plus me and my assistant.  If she needed privacy, we went outside to take detail shots of her flowers.

Judging from this image, I think her Dad may have been a little bored after deciding to visit his daughter and her bridesmaids.  I love catching these type of candids.

Soon she would be walking down the aisle.  Time for some detail shots of the shoes resting on her dress.

It's obvious that Debbie adores her Dad, so I was glad to have caught this shot in the Jury Room of the Criminal Court Building in Gary, Indiana where the ceremony took place.

Meanwhile, Dave - our groom was anxiously awaiting everything to begin.  He was being tugged all over the place by friends and family.  I was lucky to have caught him alone in this shot.

Now, onto the main event....

After the ceremony, the nervousness subsided and the laughs began as guests greeted the happy couple.

I surprised the newlyweds by popping into the limo right quick for a candid shot that you don't see too often.

We then headed for Oak Ridge Prairie in Griffith, Indiana for some formal shots.

Here is an image that combines a detail shot of the flowers taken at the hotel earlier that day with one from the park.

Here is a possible Wedding Album cover that I designed for Debbie and Dave to consider.  This is what we discuss at Premiere Night.

By this time, the entire Wedding Party (including the kids) was ready to do just that - party!!!

First dance for Debbie and Dave....

Time to toss that bouquet!!

Below is one of my fave moments of Debbie and Dave.  I wonder what he said to her?!!

I like to capture a little bit of movement of the dancers at the reception...

This last image is one of Debbie and Dave's favorites.  He loves the retro looking black and white and she loves the "old timey" look including her pose.

Thanks for taking the tour!!  Stay tuned, wedding season has just begun!!!
