Jamie and Jake were married at The Shed Weddings and Events, a rustic wedding venue located on Guse Christmas Tree farm in Wanatah, Indiana. It’s a few miles east of Valparaiso, Indiana and a great spot for a “family style” wedding with plenty of space for outdoor fun including roasting some s’mores over a fire as you will see when we get to the reception portion of this wedding sneak peek.

Our day started at the couple’s home where the bride and her bridesmaids got ready first and then swapped with the groomsmen.

I asked Jamie to dramatically show off her “zero day” countdown as her crew celebrated the big day finally arriving. Then we were off to the venue for her to get into her dress and photos in the fields.

While I was with the Jamie and her crew, Wendy was back at the house photographing groom prep and they also soon made their way to the venue for pictures.

The outdoor ceremony area at The Shed features a large wooden door that members of the wedding party enter and exit through. There are apple trees on one side and the tree farm on the other along with a mile of corn stalks, perfect for a country wedding / rustic vibe.

After family group photos and wedding party photos, they all headed for the reception area for cocktail hour as well as party games on the lawn.

Jamie and Jake and I took a walk around the grounds for couple’s photos and fun with apples!

As I mentioned previously, the reception really was a family affair with outdoor games and enough cupcakes to satisfy any sweet tooth imaginable.

It is an open air reception venue with a roof but with open doors for that outdoor vibe.

The fire pit was perfect for roasting marshmallows as children of all ages most certainly did.
