Spring Wedding At St. Michael's Parish | Northwest Indiana Wedding
I was incredibly excited to photograph Shannen and Ryan’s springtime wedding at Northwest Indiana church St. Michael’s Parish in Schererville, Indiana. It wasn’t just because of the beautiful (but windy) 80 degree day we were given, but also because this was my 5th wedding for Shannen’s family.
So here is my public and heartfelt thanks to her sisters, their family and their spouse’s families for entrusting me to capture their wedding days.
Shannen and Ryan’s day started with my coverage of bridal prep at the mother of the bride Mary’s home and with Madeline covering groom prep.
With every wedding I photograph for these folks, the family keeps growing with little ones contributing their own fun moments during the day - from running to the door for every arrival to suffering through hair brushings while trying to get in some good Saturday morning TV. haha
It was great to see Cheri of Top Knot Bridal on hair along with MUA Antoinette from The Beauty Loft.

I love grey suits for groomsmen and these guys looked GQ for the springtime wedding for sure. Ryan’s Dad pinned the boutonnière on his son when they arrived at St. Michael’s Parish.

St. Michael’s Parish in Schererville, Indiana has wonderful architecture and I make sure to show that off in wide shots of the various Catholic wedding ceremonies I photograph there.
Shannen was walked down the aisle by her brother and their mom as sunshine streamed through the high windows of the church.
After the ceremony it was family photo and wedding party group photo time at the altar before heading out to Centennial Park for bright sunshine and some very high winds typical of Spring here in the Midwest.

While we were all thrilled with the temperatures of the day, the VERY high winds were threatening to undo all of the hard work of Top Knot Bridal as it whipped the bridesmaid’s hair around. So with that, we escaped to the Centennial Park Amphitheater.
And while this may seem like just another bride with bridesmaids photo, it is very special to me as these are all of the sisters whose weddings I have now photographed. Thank you so much Jackie (2011), Nikki (2018), Shannen (2022), Amanda (2017) and Abby (2021)..

I’m always happy to see a live band at a wedding and it was terrific to listen to a live version of Can’t Help Falling In Love from the Mr. Funnyman Band as the newlyweds took to the dance floor for the first time at Andorra Banquets.
They were followed by the bride and her mom and the groom and her sister.

Andorra Banquets was warm and inviting with amber toned uplighting on the wall. The speeches were super heartfelt and the dance floor was on fire all night long with dancers of all ages.
