Korean American Wedding Ceremony at Trinity Lutheran Church

Korean wedding cake toppers from an Asian - American wedding reception in Merrillville, Indiana.

It was an international affair for Eunjin and Matt's Korean-American wedding ceremony at Trinity Lutheran Church in Crown Point, Indiana.  the bride's parents and family members flew in from Korea along with her cousin from New York to participate in her summer wedding.

The summer day started out with the bride and her bridesmaids getting hair and make up done at Robert Anthony Hair Design in Schererville, Indiana.  Although Eunjin said she was nervous, she looked her usual happy self to me.  I know her face well from the Chicago Engagement Session I did with her and Matt earlier this year.

After leaving Robert Anthony Hair Design, we arrived at Trinity Lutheran Church on Indiana Avenue in Crown Point, Indiana.  We took formal wedding photos before and after the ceremony with the bride, groom, family and parents.

The ceremony was a wonderful combination of Korean and American traditions with  Trinity Lutheran filled equally with friends and family of the bride and groom.

After the ceremony, we took family photos inside the church and then took the entire wedding party to nearby Ellendale Farm in the heart of Crown Point.  We took wedding photos inside and outside the gazebo as well as this "dipping of the bride" shot in front of the neighborhood lake.

The reception took place at Trinity Lutheran Family Center and Banquet Hall in Merrillville, Indiana.   The room was decorated with traditional Korean wedding decorations as well as good old American cupcakes.

The bride graced the guests with a solo performance at the piano of a song she composed.  I love to see live music at weddings and having the bride be a performer was extra special.   One of the bridesmaids also sang with a groomsman performing on acoustic guitar.

Even the first dance saw the couple putting on a performance for their guestsKorean.  It was a warm and wonderful night and the perfect ending to this Korean and American wedding day.
